Frequently Asked Questions

Clean & Care

With proper care, your OHMINME threads will look like new for longer! Here are some helpful tips to keep your pet accessories looking beautiful.

GENERAL CLEANING

Wash by hand or machine on a delicate cycle. Use a laundry bag or pillowcase to protect any hardware and your machine. Air dry away from direct sunlight. We suggest using an eco-friendly detergent or gentle soap. For any stubborn stains, try spot cleaning with an all-natural stain remover.

WOOL CARE

Hand wash in cold water with a gentle pH-neutral soap, such as castile soap or an eco wool detergent. Squeeze rather than rub to remove stains and dry flat on a towel. Never use fabric softeners. In the case of deep creases, hang the item in a humid environment (for example in the bathroom while you shower), or use a steam iron on wool setting.

PLANT LEATHER CARE

Gently clean with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, treat with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild soap. Wipe away any residue and allow to air dry before use. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaners as this can cause damage to the material and compromise its water-resistant properties. For added protection and durability, we recommend applying carnauba wax or beeswax regularly.

HARDWARE CARE

Natural brass is very strong and won't rust, but it gets a little fancy over time and develops a patina. Simply clean with soapy water to remove any grime, or polish with a brass cleaner to bring back its shine. We swear by "Bar Keepers Friend", but be careful to not spill on fabric. If your hardware takes a dip in salt water, just grab a soft cloth and give it a quick wipe down.

Tips!

To help prevent excess staining, we recommend to remove the item before rough play dates or muddy adventures.

Never leave your furry friend unattended wearing a bandana, bow tie or any other accessory. They are not chew proof, and are best kept away from teething puppies and dogs who like to chew.
