The story of our dog tags
When you think of dogs and outdoor adventures, mud may come to mind. But wait, I'm not talking about that kind of mud! Let me share the story of how our clay dog tags came to be.
It began in 2009 when I created my first clay tags (or more like charms). Just over a year ago, I brought the idea back to life. I'll admit, there are tons of dog tags out there, but many are plastic in disguise. Acrylic and polymer clay shed microplastics, don’t biodegrade, and release toxic chemicals into the environment. Hard pass!
This is where our dog tag really shines! After playing around with various earth clays, I’ve created a product that’s truly unique and tough (seriously, it's been tossed from high and weird places). Mineral pigments are added to resemble natural stone, air-dried, then carefully sanded, and engraved with your dog's name and phone number. Finally, they're sealed with a protective varnish to withstand the elements and your adventurous spirit!
Just like your furry bestie, each name tag is truly unique and adds a playful touch to their collar or harness, celebrating their paw-sonality in style! I'm excited to see how you wear it on your next adventure, be it a local coffee trip around the block or an epic journey afar. With love,
linnea
What Customers Are Saying
A dog tag is your pup’s personal ID badge! It’s a small tag, usually metal or something fancy like our earth clay, that hangs from their collar or harness. It displays your dog's name, your contact number, and maybe even their favourite snack (we're working on that feature!). Think of it as their VIP pass for a quick return home if they decide to go on a solo adventure.
Absolutely! Adding your dog's name to the tag is a great idea. It helps make your pup more identifiable and adds a personal touch. Plus, if your dog ever gets lost, it can make it easier for someone to call them by name and help them find their way back to you.
Your dog’s tag should include:
Your Dog’s Name: Personalizes the tag and helps if someone needs to call your dog.
Your Phone Number: Ensure it’s a contact number where you can be easily reached.
Medical Information: If your dog has specific medical needs or allergies in case of emergency. Contact us if you need this extra information on the tag, and we’ll do our best to include it.
Awesome question! Here's a quick breakdown for you:
Earth-friendly materials: Our tags are made from air-dried, paper-based earth clay - natural and non-toxic. Way cooler than those plastic polymer tags!
Adventure-proof: Coated with a non-toxic varnish, our tags can handle splashes, dirt, light scratches, and fading, so they're ready for all your adventures!
Deep engraving: With deep, dark engraving, your dog's info remains clear and visible no matter how muddy the paws get.
Unique marble look: Infused with earth and mineral pigments to resemble natural stone, each tag is as one-of-a-kind as your furry friend!
Easy attachment: Featuring a solid brass split ring, our tags attach securely to any collar or harness. No peeling or rusting here!
Pup-approved: Lightweight and available in two sizes, our tags combine function and style, perfect for dogs of all sizes.
Our tags aren’t just accessories - they’re your dog’s personal ID badge, made to withstand every adventure and match their unique personality!
Yes! Our dog tags are tough cookies, tested through daily strolls, bushwalks, and trips to the beach over many months. Made from paper-based earth clay, it’s naturally strong, and the non-toxic varnish provides resistance to dirt, water, scratches, and fading. The deep engraving ensures your dog's information remains clear. To keep the tag looking its best, simply clean it with a soft cloth and avoid prolonged exposure to water. Whether your dog loves to play or explore, our tags are up for the job!
The best tag size for your dog depends on their size, breed, and your preference!
Size S (28mm ø x 51mm total height): Perfect for very small dogs, puppies, and cats. They’re less likely to interfere with their comfort.
Size L (35mm ø x 58mm total height): Ideal for medium to large dogs, fluffy breeds, or smaller dogs with big personalities (or just super long legs).
The total height measures from the top of the split ring to the bottom of the tag.
Both sizes are lightweight (~10 grams). We recommend selecting a size based on your dog’s height so the tag hangs comfortably from their collar without hindering their movement. Make sure the tag is positioned outside of your dog's reach to prevent chewing.
